"Handel - Giving London something to sing about"

We are thrilled to be inviting Ben Knight for a special event this September. Ben will be presenting a 45mins curated lecture - recital. Handel faced problems bringing Italian Opera to London. This lecture will explore what these problems were and highlight what he did to solve them and win over the London audiences. Ben will be drawing musical examples from Rinaldo, Acis and Galetea and other operas.

Ben is a British bass-baritone and Music Leader, he studied at the Royal Academy of music, achieving a Distinction in MA Voice and was awarded the Harry Fisher Memorial, Van Smit and Highly Commended in the Blyth-Buesst Operatic Prize. An Open Academy Fellow; Ben worked with ENO, Glyndebourne, and Wigmore Hall. He trained as a music leader with Welsh National Opera & Spittlefields Music. He works with communities across Europe including; Verbier Festival and the Royal Opera House as a Create and Sing artist. Ben is an Emerging Artist with English Touring Opera and an Opera Prelude Young Artist.
