Hunter Coblentz

Hunter Coblentz (b.1988) is a Canadian composer living in London, England. He is the Handel & Hendrix in London Composer-in-Residence for the term 2015 – 2017. Recent premieres have included a work composed for The London Philharmonic Orchestra, and an RPS/Cheltenham Music Festival commission (Fidelio Trio).

In 2015 Hunter received a Royal Philharmonic Society composition prize, a SOCAN young Canadian composer award, and prizes for best free composition & best orchestral work at the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition finals in Prague (2nd overall).

He holds a Master of Music in composition with distinction from The Royal College of Music.
