August highlights

Our Ensemble-in-Residence, BLOCK4, will be playing their penultimate concert at Handel House with a recital inspired by the 300th anniversary of the very first ballet d’action in Britain.

We will also be hosting another Hendrix-inspired Friday Late to celebrate the anniversary of the Woodstock Festival, which Jimi famously headlined.

The Loves of Mars and Venus

Saturday 5 August, 2pm

BLOCK4’s afternoon concert will commemorate the 300-year anniversary of Britain’s first ballet d’action, which features elements of Greek mythology. Expect music by Handel, Monteverdi, and some rarely heard Baroque masters.

Friday Late – Woodstock 50th Anniversary

Friday 18 August, 2pm

This August’s Friday Late in the Hendrix Flat, celebrating all things Woodstock, has now SOLD OUT but contact us if you would like to be added to our waiting list as their may some returns.

Guitar Workshops

Saturday 12 August, 11am

Trade tips and tricks with other guitarists and our expert of the Jimi Hendrix sound, Nigel Jones, at this workshop. Just bring your guitar down and plug in. Any level welcome including beginners!

Look out for the Hendrix night at The Scotch of St. James, a special Friday Late for Halloween, and a Georgian Pantomime around Handel House.

Period ensemble La Nuova Musica returns to St John’s Smith Square in Westminster for a concert of music by Handel and Mozart. Programme includes Mozart’s Mass in C minor, and excerpts from Mozart’s Zaide, and Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus. Soloists include Lucy Crowe, Mary Bevan, and Nick Pritchard.
