Friday Lates

We may have missed this off our last newsletter but we have definitely saved the best until last. Our next season of Friday Lates is now open to book and it promises to be a unique way of experiencing the house.

Friday Late Muso Act 1

2 September, performances at 6, 7. 15 and 8.30pm.

Improvising opera company, Impropera, present Muso.

Night has fallen on the homes of George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix. Once the doors are closed and the museum staff have gone home, something magical stirs. A harpsichord tinkles and floorboards creak as a troupe of musical improvisers sneak in at twilight to sing homage to these two great musical masters.

Immerse yourself in the worlds of Handel & Hendrix, hear from an expert and then enjoy musical performances made up on the spot about your discoveries. No score, no story and no safety net. What is performed is up to you.

The musicians are ready. A curator is on hand with expert perspective.
All we need is you – the audience – to come and get curious.

Friday Late Muso Act II

7 October, performances at 6, 7. 15 and 8.30pm.

‘While there’s plenty here for opera-lovers, comedy fans will also find much to laugh at – and hear some beautiful music to boot’
The Guardian

‘Rising to the audience’s every challenge, the company quickly weave a plot of brilliant ingenuity’
The Times

‘Beware you can get addicted to Impropera’
BBC Radio 3

Friday Late Muso Act III

4 November, performances at 6, 7. 15 and 8.30pm.

Time Out:
‘A unique format – part museum late, part improvised opera – is the latest project from Impropera, musical masters of on-the-spot performance who use audience input to steer each unique production.’
