Handel & Hendrix Homepage

It has been an emotional week in the capital and our thoughts are with all those who have been affected by the events that took place on Saturday evening.

As always, if you want somewhere in this great city to hear some beautiful live music, here’s what we have coming up.

Quartet

Thursday 8th June, 6:30pm

Tonight, 25 Brook Street is probably the only place in London you’re likely to hear Handel and John Cage in the same concert.
Join us for a programme juxtaposing 20th century works with Handel pieces newly transcribed for string quartet by our Composer-in-Residence Hunter Coblentz.

We’re all about musical contrasts here!

Guitar Workshops

Saturday 10th June, 11:00am

This weekend we still have a few spaces left for our group lesson. All levels welcome, just bring your guitar and help us fill Jimi’s home with riffs again!

Broadwood Competition Winner

Thursday 22nd June, 6:30pm

A great chance to hear the next generation of harpsichord players before they go on to bigger things. This year the much-lauded Serbian musician Dušan Toroman will be performing a selection of Scarlatti and Handel on our 1754 Kirckman harpsichord.

Hendrix Walking Tours

Looking forward to July, don’t miss our Hendrix Walking Tours around the places Jimi lived, recorded and performed while he called London home.

From our friends this month

Bach’s St John Passion at St John’s Smith Square, the UK’s only Baroque concert hall, on Tuesday 20 June.
Adrian Butterfield directs the London Handel Orchestra and a fantastic cast, including Charles Daniels (Evangelist), Peter Harvey (Christus), Julia Doyle, and Tim Mead, amongst others.
