This year’s Brighton Early Music Festival explores the topical theme of Europe with 700 years of music from 17 European countries. The Festival runs 26 October – 11 November 2018 with 24 events across Brighton & Hove. Highlights include lute songs with Elin Manahan Thomas and Elizabeth Kenny; Italian madrigals with the Fieri Consort; a double bill of early operas by Blow and Monteverdi, directed by Thomas Guthrie; and a special concert of ‘music for peace’ for Armistice Day including works by Handel, Purcell, Charpentier and Zelenka.
