Post 105: Great British Plaster Off
I have mentioned previously my unlikely romantic notions about the construction industry and the attraction of doing a job that makes a very obvious difference. Well I have now pinned down the particular trade that I have decided I would like… plastering! What an altogether satisfying job that would be. Such an immediate, smooth and beautiful transformation. If I knew anything about making cakes I imagine it is rather like icing one. Although as was pointed out to me the plastering is no good if what’s underneath isn’t tasty. Nonetheless check out these photos of what will be the Hendrix exhibition space.
In other news I sense excitement mounting as we approach various Hendrix anniversaries. The autumn always feels a bit like a Hendrix time for me, by contrast for various reasons Handel is all about springtime. I think I am going to mark Hendrix’s death date this year with a trip to the following event at the Troubadour in Earl’s Court on 19 September. Hope to see you there.
