Quote: “We have some other very rare images of Hendrix”
I have been out of the country for a few days and my travelling companions and I have had our Hendrix antennae twitching but to no avail we didn’t hear so much as a Hendrix chord on our trip. So imagine my joy to find, on my first day back in London (Bishopsgate to be precise) returning to the tube station after a project meeting, Jimi blazoned across the front of what looked like a camera shop. Clearly I couldn’t walk past without further investigation.
I was thrilled to go inside and discover it was the Olympus and Rockarchive Image Space, a pop up shop displaying photographs of a range of rock musicians. Of course who would not have chosen Jimi to lead the charge by putting him on the front of the shop. The gallery manager was delightful and extremely friendly, very excited to hear about our ambitions and has helpfully suggested we may be able to build up a partnership. What serendipity, spotting Hendrix, discovering the display and meeting the gallery manager, London is amazing. There really isn’t any need to travel and I have to agree with Dr Johnson, tired of London tired of life.
