Post 36: Lights, Camera, Action
Apparently there is a film in the pipeline which will document Hendrix’s last 9 days alive. There is chatter about who will play which roles and reference to another Hendrix film “All is by my side” which premiered at a film festival last year and is due for release in the UK in August. That film, by all accounts, is pretty wide of the mark but I suppose every film has to have an element of artistic license. Anyway you can read more about both here.
When not catching up on Hendrix gossip I have been crazily sorting, filing, ordering and discovering in preparation for moving out of our offices and I have uncovered some glorious nuggets of information. Today’s inpsiration was coming across this wonderful clipping from the Times, 26 April 2001 which was reporting on the fact that Handel’s blue plaque on the front of the building was being moved. The article complains that it has taken so long to establish a Handel museum, 240 years, and ends with the line, “I just hope that Hendrix doesn’t have to wait 240 years before he gets his museum.” And so say all of us.
