Bon voyage Trudie!

Bon voyage Trudie!

Life here on Brook Street is entering a new phase. The project is moving out of the planning and preparation part and into the actual building phase. It feels like the show is really starting. This means that we are close to appointing the contractors who are going to do the building work starting in September. This is both exciting and slightly nerve wracking. The other major change is that our wonderful project manager Trudie Moeller is moving onto to pastures new – well in fact not so many pastures and more high rises in Singapore.

Good byes are not my strong point and it was a little sad yesterday when we had our last design team meeting together. I first met Trudie in July 2012, she had been given a tremendous reference from the Sir John Soane Museum where she also project managed a capital development and I liked her immediately. She is a brilliant combination of serious, professional, hardworking and charmingly straight talking so the last 24 months have been a joy.

Whilst I am sad that she is leaving it has fallen at a sensible time for the project (no doubt she project managed that too) as we are entering the new stage and new contractors will begin working with us. The project has been handed over to one of her colleagues so I am confident that it will continue with the same commitment, attention to detail and enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm level: a momentary low
Progress: lights, camera, action
