Post 68: A Mayfair frame of mind
It has been busy, 1960s themed week here in Mayfair. The Bond Street Christmas lights were lit and they look very 1960s inspired – peacock feathers a go go. There will certainly be a few of those here when Hendrix’s flat opens. Fell over some new (to me) local art in the area again with a 60s reference; a statue of Terence Donovan photographing Twiggy.
I had a very interesting meeting about traffic flow in the area. There are some real challenges here but it is good that many of the key stake holders are giving it serious thought. I particularly liked the suggestion to make a guitar fretboard pedestrian crossing at Brook Street. Now that would be good.
And at Handel House last night we hosted the first in a series of concerts programmed by our Composer in Residence, Cevanne which combined puppets, electro-acoustic music, costume, Handel, computers and the shortest snippet of Jimi Hendrix’s voice played through a theremin – it was the business.

I too think the guitar fretboard pedestrian crossing at Brook Street would be an ace idea (I am sure Jimi and Kathy would approve) 🙂
