Post 94: A period hoarding
Well it must have been at least two posts since you have heard me sing Simon, the site manager’s, praises, so clearly an update on his latest excellent achievement is required … hoarding. The stuff that keeps the builders and their grubby, dusty work hidden and separate. As the project is progressing it is inevitable that the builders and their noise and dust will get more intrusive so we are preparing ourselves. To mitigate this, hoarding is essential. Usually, as a temporary structure, it is serviceable but basically pretty ugly. Well not so at Handel House. Simon has constructed a thing of beauty, check out the detailing. Indeed it looks so good I am not sure visitors have even noticed there is anything going on. Although I assume the scaffolding could be a bit of a give away…
The other highlight for me this week was a couple of wonderful focus group sessions at which I presented our latest exhibition design plans. The voluntary participants were so supportive and helpful it was a joy to share the information and get their feedback. I am now, of course, assuming all Hendrix enthusiasts are equally knowledgeable, generous and charming. Thank you so much for your help, you know who you are and you have set a high bar!
