Description

Elin Harries (soprano) is joined by harpsichordist Yeo Yat-Soon with a programme of early English classical songs with words by the pre-Gothic English poets.

‘Boneyard Boys’ refers to a group of poets considered a precursor of the gothic movement. The ‘Bluestockings’, led by Elizabeth Montague, were a group of intellectual elites who fought for the civil rights of women and social justice. Despite their differences, their writing has undisputed similarities.

The concert includes music by the likes of Haydn, Salomon and Galuppi.
