Description

Olwen Foulkes (recorder) discusses her original research into Handel’s orchestra between 1711-1729 for her debut recording ‘Directed by Handel’.

Joined by Carina Drury (cello), Toby Carr (theorbo), and Nathaniel Mander (harpsichord), Olwen will also perform Handel’s stunning recorder sonata in F major, haunting melodies by Giuseppe Sammartini, and a charming air by Handel’s favourite assistant, John Christopher Smith.
