Hendrix Flat Friday Late
Bold As Love

Our next Hendrix house party
Description
Help us celebrate the four-year anniversary of the opening of the Hendrix Flat with our next Hendrix House Party.
A rare chance to experience live music, DJs, drinks, film projections and exclusive access to parts of the house usually closed to the public, including the stairs that Hendrix would have walked up to get to his third-floor flat, and the guest room where George Harrison famously stayed.
On the first floor, music will be brought to you, on vinyl, by psychedelic DJ duo Ella Stormark & Acid Alex, followed by one of London’s best selectors, and NTS radio host, Donna Leake. Expect to hear 60s and 70s tunes taken from the breadth of Hendrix’s famously eclectic record collection – jazz, rock, blues, psych, funk and everything in between.
We’re also incredibly excited to be joined once again by The Meyer Dancers who’ll be bringing their psychedelic Go-Go dancing back and never fail to get the party going!
On the second floor we will have live sets by one of London’s most exciting bands, Ese & The Vooduu People. South Londoner Ese Okorodudu and her band will bringing their Hendrix-inspired electric soul to Brook Street for a few stripped-back sessions throughout the night.
Up on the third floor, next to Jimi’s bedroom, there will be the chance to join in with a pro guitarist in a live blues jam session.
All that plus a pop-up bar, psychedelic light projections, and a few surprises.
Standard tickets – £25 SOLD OUT
You can still be added to our waiting list in case we get any returns – call or email us on +44 (0)20 7495 1685/[email protected].
Joining forces behind the decks for their mutual love of 60s and 70s psychedelia is music writer and promoter Ella Stormark and organ grinder Acid Alex. Having regularly been putting on live, gigs and jam nights across London under ‘The Jonesing Jams’ for the last three years, Ella Stormark also manages The Great Frog Music and works in A&R for Orange Amplifiers, while Alex, formerly of east London space rock band RIDDLES, is slangin’ tunes while fronting fantastic four piece Magic Moss. With years of friendship fuelling the fire, the two will take you on a trippy journey down the yellow brick road. Strictly vinyl, good times & no requests.
Part time grafter at Brilliant Corners, London, and full time music lover. Her sets spread far and wide, always depending on how she feels in the moment and for getting lost in the present. Music for open ears, open minds, open hearts and zero expectations.
The Meyer Dancers are London’s “Go-to” retro Go-Go dance company
Formed in 2010 with a group of professionally trained dancers and choreographers, who are massively passionate about 60’s and 70’s music. They bring the footage of ‘Ready Steady Go’, ‘Pans People’ and ‘Soul Train’ to life again with original movement and outrageous hair styles.
“Boy, so nice to hear Ese & The Vooduu People. So well-played and the guitar tonality and attack is so natural and beautiful, and so well sung, and performed just loose enough. Damn good rockin’ band… a nice hang to hang around when they’re playing. Really cool…” Iggy Pop, Iggy Confidential, BBC 6 Music, 2019
South Londoner Ese Okorodudu has seen it all, done most of it. Graduating from London’s most demanding performing arts school — the streets, as a busker — songwriter Ese (vocals, guitar) is backed by the incendiary Vooduu People: ex-Noisette Pharoah Russell (drums) and Basile Petite (bass) plus Sheena Ross (backing vocals) and Jackson Baird (keyboards).
