Hendrix Flat Friday Late
Our next Hendrix house party
Come and help us celebrate the three-year anniversary of the opening of the Hendrix Flat with a party dedicated to the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s legendary performance at the Royal Albert Hall in February 1969.
The next in our series of Friday Lates is a celebration of all things Hendrix, inspired by Jimi’s legendary headline gigs at the Royal Albert Hall in 1969. Expect live music, DJs, drinks, film projections and exclusive access to parts of the house usually closed to the public, including the stairs that Hendrix would have walked up to get to his third-floor flat, and the guest room where George Harrison famously stayed.
On the first floor, there will be two fully-electrified live sets from Power Rock Blues band Miguel Montalban & The Southern Vultures, in between vinyl-only DJ sets courtesy of Olly and Stef from Helgi’s Bar, plus the return of “London’s Go-To 1960’s and 1970’s Go-Go Dancers” The Meyer Dancers!
On the second floor, Classic Album Sundays will host an immersive listening session featuring The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s debut album, Are You Experienced?
Founder and BBC 6 Music broadcaster Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy will tell the story behind the album and then we will feature an uninterrupted vinyl replay of the entire album on an audiophile sound system courtesy of Sonata Hi-fi so that people can hear details they have never heard before. Experience the album in Jimi’s flat in a way that you never have before!
Up on the third floor, in Jimi’s flat, our resident guitarist Nigel Jones will be running a blues jam session on top of acoustic performances by some special guests.
Earlybird tickets: £20 – SOLD OUT
