“Letting the words come, As if lifted from sleep, to drift upstream, Against the water’s will” – these lines, taken from a poem on Orpheus’ story, set the tone for this concert. Chau-Yee Lo showcases masterpieces by Louis Couperin and JS Bach alongside two compelling contemporary classics, Louis Andriessen’s Overture to Orpheus and Roderik de Man’s Frenzy.
