Description
From 1702, the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane staged vibrant and glittering entertainments of music, dance and acrobatics during the intervals of spoken plays.
Olwen Foulkes introduces works by Corelli, Sammartini and others which were performed on these occasions.

In an attempt to mitigate the financial losses made by our fantastic rosta of musicians, we have taken the decision to pay all our performers regardless of programming changes.
