Friday Late – Woodstock 50th Anniversary

A Night of Peace and Music

Friday Late – Woodstock 50th Anniversary

Don’t miss out on the next Hendrix house party!

Description

Join us for our next Hendrix Flat party. This time we’ll be celebrating exactly 50 years since Woodstock, the festival that defined the Sixties.

We’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock with a night of live music, DJs, dancing, and film projections all dedicated to Jimi Hendrix’s legendary headline performance. Plus don’t miss exclusive access to parts of the house usually closed to the public, including the stairs that Hendrix would have walked up to get to his third-floor flat, and the guest room where George Harrison famously stayed.

On the first floor, music will be brought to you – on vinyl only – by singer/songwriter, DJ and Soho Radio Host Iraina Mancini alongside DJs from the Handel & Hendrix in London team playing tracks from Jimi’s record collection. Expect to hear anthems from some of the incredible lineup of the original festival – Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, Sly and the Family Stone, Santana, Jefferson Airplane to name just a few!

We’re also incredibly excited to be joined once again by The Meyer Dancers who’ll be bringing their psychedelic Go-Go dancing back to Brook Street.

On the second floor we will have live acoustic sets by two of London’s most exciting psychedelic groups. The first by Fire In Her Eyes, an all-girl, three-piece band from London who make catchy, psychedelic music influenced by pop, rock, folk and soul. Let their three-part harmonies mesmerise you.
The second by The Sitar Service, a group formed by classical Hindustani singer Sameer Khan, sitarist Rod Bourganos and percussionist Anthony Paine. The trio revisit and re-imagine themes of the late 60s & early 70s Rock Music and blend it with Hindustani classical Ragas, taking the listener on a sensorial journey.

Up on the third floor, next to Jimi’s bedroom, our resident guitarist Nigel Jones will be running a live blues jam session for anyone to take part in.

All that plus face painting, a pop-up bar and a craft session to make your own Woodstock-inspired piece of clothing.

If you’re still not convinced, check out what our last Hendrix Flat party was like here.
