Handel's Salon with Katie Marshall
Handel’s Salon brings music back into the rooms where Handel once lived, worked and entertained. Inspired by the concerts, gatherings and creative exchanges that filled his home, this series celebrates his music, his house and his enduring legacy.
The Star Soprano
Soprano Katie Marshall is joined by Nathaniel Mander at the harpsichord to deliver a programme dedicated to some of Handel’s most celebrated creations for the soprano voice, all written here in London. Starting with Handel’s first London opera, Rinaldo (1711) and ending with an aria from the oratorio, Solomon (1743), this programme takes you on a journey of Handel’s evolving mastery of the soprano range that went on to influence generations to come.
