MESSIAH TALKS LANDSCAPE

Messiah Talks

Handel composed Messiah in this house over just 24 days in the summer of 1741. The oratorio was premiered in Dublin in 1742, and the performance was so anticipated that the audience were asked to come without their hooped skirts or swords so as to make space for more people!

Join our Assistant Curator at 2pm on Thursdays to hear about the fascinating journey of this well-loved piece, explore some of the musical details that make it so special, and see the room that Handel composed in.

The talks last 20 minutes and are included in your General Admission Ticket - see you there!
