Join us at St George’s Church for a special concert celebrating 25 years since Handel’s London home first opened its doors to the public. Bringing together our friends from the very beginning, the London Handel Players and the Brook Street Band, alongside acclaimed mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston, this anniversary concert celebrates Handel, his music and the remarkable legacy of his life at 25 Brook Street.
Make the occasion even more special by joining us for a pre-concert reception at Handel’s home before making the short walk to St George’s Church for the concert.

Helen Charlston
Mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston is an acclaimed interpreter of Baroque repertoire, performing regularly with leading orchestras, ensembles and opera houses across Europe. This season she sings the title role in Handel’s Solomon with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, alongside performances with the Czech Philharmonic, De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and at the BBC Proms.
Recent opera appearances include her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Sesto in Handel’s Giulio Cesare, conducted by William Christie, and performances with Les Arts Florissants as Rosmira in Handel’s Partenope. She has also appeared at the Royal Opera of Versailles, the Grange Festival and Opéra national de Paris.
The Brook Street Band
The Brook Street Band takes its name from the London street where George Frideric Handel lived from 1723–1759. Formed in 1996 by baroque cellist Tatty Theo, the Band rapidly established itself as one of the UK’s leading Handel specialists, with 18th-century chamber repertoire and Handel’s music at the heart of its work.
The Band has performed extensively at prestigious British and European festivals and venues, including Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Barcelona Early Music Festival and Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival. It regularly broadcasts for BBC Radio 3, while its extensive discography for AVIE has received critical acclaim, including Gramophone Magazine Editor’s Choice.
The London Handel Players
For twenty-five years, since making their debut at Handel’s parish church, St George’s Hanover Square, as part of the London Handel Festival in 2000, the London Handel Players have thrilled audiences across the world with their performances and recordings. Praised by the *New York Times* for their “soulful depth” and “consummate skill and musicianship”, the ensemble specialises in baroque chamber music and concertos, collaborating with some of the world’s leading singers.
The ensemble has performed at major venues and festivals including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Internationale Händel-Festspiele Göttingen and Halle International Handel Festival. Their highly acclaimed discography includes four recordings of Handel chamber music, his complete works for solo violin and *Handel at Home*, featuring chamber arrangements of his arias.
