Guitarist Nigel Jones will host a Jam session. Bring your guitar or use ours and play your favourite Hendrix songs. For all ages and abilities.
12-1pm - Talk "The sound at your feet"
In this talk we'll look at Jimi's 'rig'. The amp settings Jimi used and importantly the pedals that changed the shape of Jimi's tone.
We'll take a look at types of Fuzz pedal and how they impact the sound of the guitar. We'll also take a look at the wah pedal sound that Jimi used.
This talk will feature, guitar playing examples to help enhance the talk.
1-3pm - Brook street jam
Bring your guitar and help us fill Brook Street with music. You will get the chance to jam in Jimi's bedroom!
8th March
12-1pm - Talk Chasing Guitars
This talk will focus on the guitars Jimi used, the sounds they produce and how Jimi used those sounds/tones.
We'll look at the well known guitars and the not so well known guitars.
This talk will feature, guitar playing examples to help enhance the talk.
1-3pm - Brook street jam
Bring your guitar and help us fill Brook Street with music. You will get the chance to jam in Jimi's bedroom!
