Students discover London in the 1740s and 1960s through the homes and stories of legendary musicians, George F Handel and Jimi Hendrix. Students will explore their musical legacies through a guided tour of the historic houses, a session exploring primary sources, and a practical music workshop.
Music for the Royal Fireworks
KS1 & 2

This session sees students travel back in time to the celebration of the Royal Fireworks in 1749. Students will explore the music that Handel composed for the event and will create their own Fireworks music in response, working with a professional baroque musician to capture the things that they might have heard, seen, and felt.
GCSE music – Baroque focus

A comprehensive session exploring Baroque music for GCSE students. Students will discover the social and historical context of the Baroque era through a guided tour of Handel’s house; have an introduction to baroque instruments with a professional musician; and take part in a composition workshop.
